Market Garden Assistant (and Farmstand Manager?)
 
Description of Tasks
On Mondays and Thursdays, the Market Garden Assistant will help with harvesting, cleaning, and packaging vegetables for CSA, farmstand, and wholesale customers.  Work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays involves all aspects of garden maintenance including seeding, transplanting, cultivating, weeding, etc. The ideal candidate would be available to work at least a few hours a month on the weekend. Market Garden Assistant may be asked to learn cattle chores, but work will not regularly include animal chores.

The ideal candidate would have the interest and skills such that part of the position would include managing our farmstand.  Farmstand management would include opening the farmstand daily, stocking products, managing inventory, ordering products, doing displays, pricing, and signage, and identifying new products.

Please note: the work can be uncomfortable because of; heat, cold, physical exertion, and repetitive motions. We work in all types of weather.  

Schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 8am – 4 pm, and occasionally a few hours on Saturday and/or Sunday.

The ideal person would commit to working full time from March thorugh early December.  Winter work may be available for the right person.  
Pay
Depends on experience/ demonstrated ability.

2. Discount on non THF farmstand items (30% off).  
3. Bonus of $.50/ hr worked, if employee works all agreed upon hours through December.

We may be looking for additional help with: deliveries, social media, farmstand, hoop house building and other construction projects.

  5. Can you work 5 days a week 8am-4pm?  Are you willing to work at least a few weekend hours per month?
  6. We are looking for someone who will accomplish tasks quickly with fine attention to detail.  Please describe how you can fill this need?
  7.  Are you interested in helping with/ skilled in any of our possible additional needs (listed above)? 
  8. Please provide related work history and a couple of references that we may contact.
